Haloperidol induced Parkinson's: Recovery? Ways to ease symptoms?

by Symptom Advice on January 16, 2011

My boyfriend has been on haloperidol (HALDOL) for a few months now. He was diagnosed last night as having developed Parkinson's due to the medication decreasing his dopamine levels. He's seen doctors and spent last night in the hospital.
The decline has been extremely rapid.

It was explained to me at the hospital that unlike regular Parkinson's disease a full recovery can be made when it's drug induced. the medication has obviously been stopped by the doctor but don't know how long until we are likely to see an improvement in his movement and tremors. the doctor just said "time will tell".

Also are there any foods or supplements that could help ease his symptoms a little?

Has anyone got any experience with this?

Magnesium potassium Vitamin B12
