How serious is psoriasis?

by Symptom Advice on January 14, 2011

I'm not exactly sure if thats what i have on my head, but i have all of the symptoms of psoriasis, so how serious is it, i read joint pains or arthritis can be caused from it, is that possible?! could my knee pay be involved with the scabs on my head? and how serious is all of this? should i tell my dad or can i just my the meds on my own? are there any home remedies for it?

It can become a serious problem if it is not treated. As I am sure you know already, it can be itchy, scaly and uncomfortable. I have several people in my family who have it and different medications work differently for each of them. I would recommend telling your Dad so you can get a good medication for it. the unfortunate part is it can spread to knees and elbows and other parts of your body. Take care of it now to avoid any further problems. best of luck

It is a good idea to confirm the diagnosis at doctor's office. it might lead to larger problems if left untreated. I found herbal remedies from serenaskin.com that are very effective for my psoriasis. Cream and spray cleared my skin and now i just take anti-psoriasis extract to prevent future flare-ups. it works very well for me.
Best wishes.

I have had it all my life. when you younger it sucks. cause sometimes it can get worse. I don't think your dad would make a big deal about it. my advice for you would to get a GOOD dermatologist. They can help in a lot of ways. BE CAREFULL it's hard to find a good dermatologist. took me 3 to get an amazing one. I had it on my legs head part of my chest and belly. I have tried all the creams and such. Now I'm on Embrell and it has worked wonders for me. Also see if you have good health insurance that helps big time.
