If living in sub-saharan is catching malaria a frequent occurance?

by Symptom Advice on January 8, 2011

Im aware mosquitoes will infect people living in sub-saharan africa. Does it mean pretty much a chance for people being infected everyday with flu-like symptoms? Or is there a point that the person adjusts and no longer gets badly effected by it

Note im a white person from the UK and never had malaria before. Im planning to visit Uganda

People that live in sub-Sahara Africa adjust/become immune. Tell your doctor that you are planning on visiting Uganda and want malaria pills for the trip. you have to start taking them about a week or 2 before departing home. also to be on the safe side, get your shots up to date. an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. you don't want your trip wrecked because you become sick there.
