Is it possible to have a bladder infection with no symptoms?

by Symptom Advice on December 20, 2010

I went to the doctor because I had the flu, sore throat and headache. he also did a urinalysis and told me I had a bladder infection. I am concerned I was misdiagnosed. I have no pain down there. I have no symptoms of bladder infection such as painful urination or frequent urination. Can you have a bladder infection with no symptoms of it?

You may have had a mild infection that was not yet causing any symptoms–but would have a few weeks down the line. Most people have the bacteria before they ever do know they're getting one!

Trust the urinalysis.

if you test results come back, it shows that you have a urinary infection, as you're not sure if it is possible, the best choice would be to get tested again at another location by another Dr. who is more trustworthy.

Best wishes
