Is there any possible natural cure or alleviation for sinus infection symptoms?

by Symptom Advice on February 5, 2011

Yes….. a lot of people like to use a neti pot. I hear that works well. I like to use a sinus medicine such as…. alka-seltzer, sudafed, Wal-Mart's cold/sinus plus, etc… The thing that has worked the best for me is mucinex. it cleared my sinuses out completely. another thing is sinus bath gel that Wal-Mart sells. it is put out by Village Naturals. You can find it in the cosmetic section. Hope this has helped and given you plenty options.

P.S.
The most natural cure of all of these would be the bath. it works absolutely wonderful. I have recommended it to many people (friends/family) and have only received positive feed back. You can also put a warm rag on your head and drink plenty of water.

YES< try this , it works.
My husband uses this to keep from getting bronchitis, and I use to to cure sinus infections. THere are many kinds of bacteria that live in the sinuses, and this gets rid of all the bad ones!.This is the only thing that really helped me — my Dr. told me about a sinus wash that will kill bacteria.
you need

distilled water
sea salt
liquid chlorophyll and colloidal silver from the health food store.
in a glass mix 1/4 cup water with a pinch of salt and heat to body temperature.
add 5 drops each silver and chlorophyll and mix.
using a large dropper (like one used for infant medication) drop 2 full droppersfull into one side of the nose while laying down.
Turn the head and let it drain out the other nostril. be sure to have paper towels handy.
The silver kills the bacteria and there are several hundred kind that can live in the sinus cavities and anti biotics don't get rid of them all.
Do this twice a day for a week, mixing up the mixture fresh each time.
Then do it once a week for maintenance.
There is nothing in this that will hurt you, and it cured me.
I do not have to take claritin, or antibiotics anymore.
best wishes

yes sea water. find an area with clean sea water (away from sewers) and take a bit in your hand and suck some throught your nose .you need to do this every day maybe more than once a day. its a miracle for sinus infection and was the only cure available before medicine but even present day medicine uses sea water there is a product for sinus problems caled eau de merre isotonic which is basicaly sterile sea water.

I'm just wondering how many are aware of "NASA's clean Air Plant Study" completed several years ago?

"Common indoor plants may provide a valuable weapon in the fight against rising levels of indoor air pollution. Those plants in your office or home are not only decorative, but NASA scientists are finding them to be surprisingly useful in absorbing potentially harmful gases and cleaning the air inside modern buildings."

"NASA research has consistently shown that living, green and flowering plants can remove several toxic chemicals from the air in building interiors. You can use plants in your home or office to improve the quality of the air to make it a more pleasant place to live and work – where people feel better, perform better, any enjoy life more."

mmm I've heard about a cyclamen plant that cures sinusitis, it's quite a big boom on some forums, but I think the product is not yet in UK, neither I've tried it, so I don't know if it's possible to buy it here :(

Oh god, I get this all the time! in fact, mine are infected right now.

I find that eucalyptus oil in hot water works. Breathing in the steam always seems to help with my symptoms. never found a cure apart from anti-biotics yet though!
