LINK CARDS ACCEPTED AT GLENVIEW FARMERS’ MARKET INCLUDING DOUBLE VALUE INCENTIVE

by Symptom Advice on September 16, 2011

Starting June 25, 2011 Link cards will be accepted for payment at the Glenview Farmers’ Market.

People who participate in the SNAP (Link) program can use their Link card to purchase food items including: fresh produce, jellies, jams, breads and dairy products at the Glenview Farmers’ Market. In addition, the Market will be offering double value tokens, providing participants with an opportunity to stretch their benefits and purchase double the amount of fresh produce.

To purchase items with Link, participants will visit the table with the “We accept Link cards here” banner and use their Link card to purchase orange $1 wooden tokens. for each orange token purchased, participants will receive a matching number of green double value $1 tokens. The orange and green tokens are used the same as “cash” at any market booths that display signs with the Link card symbol on them.

Any unused tokens can be refunded back on the participants Link card or used at future Glenview Farmers’ Markets. Green tokens cannot be exchanged for benefits or cash. all tokens must be used before October 8th.

This Link program is made possible because of the generous support of: Glenview State Bank, Glenview Women of Today, Friends of Wagner Farm and the Rotary Club of Glenview-Noon.

Free cooking classes, taught by Nurture, will be available for Link card users. Visit the market for more information about these free classes.

The Glenview Farmers’ Market is held every Saturday, June 25th – October 8th from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm at Wagner Farm, 1510 Wagner Road, Glenview. for additional market information, visit glenviewfarmersmarket.org.
