I was wondering if anyone could tell me what causes the relapses of malaria in infected people. we were doing it in bio yesterday and I asked why after so many months and after some treatment the parasites can lie dormant in the liver and then cause symptoms of malaria once more. it always says it CAn cause a relapse but never says WHY… My teacher didn't know and I offered to look it up, I haven't found it yet and I wanted to see if anyone knew lol…

i dont know specifically about malaria but there a lot of things like herpes which gives cold sores that lie dormant then when ur run down or catch a virus they flare up again, so it could be like this.
