Mums with a boy and a girl – what were your pregnancy symptoms like?

by Symptom Advice on February 2, 2011

I'm 12 weeks pregnant and already have a little boy who's 9 months. my pregnancy this time is much worse than the last one! – more sickness and indigestion already, feeling way more tired, etc, but no spots this time which is a bonus. what were your experiences of pregnancy with the different sexes?

N.B. – I realise symptoms aren't a science to tell the gender, am just interested in other people's experiences.

Hey

i dont think symptoms can distinguish a paticular sex in general but i think they might do for some people, personally! I think some people carry some sex better than ther other.

Im pregnant with a boy, im 34 weeks pregnant and its been awful!!! it started with extreme morning sickness at 6 weeks until about 26 weeks pregnant, in and out of hospital off work etc etc, then straight after, i started with awful heartburn which i still have now along with a little bit of sickness still, bt just in the mornings and from week 32 onwards iv had synthesis pubis disorder coz the little buggers got its head engaged already lol so yeh not been good.

I had a miscarriage before this baby and i felt absoloutly blooming, i felt absoloutly fine but i dont know what the sex was i think a girl because it was so different to this one, but who knows.

good luck xx

ha ha I craved everything sweet with my son who is now 14 years old only had morning sickness once and sailed through my pregnancy.

with my daughter who is 13 years didnt crave any thing no morning sickness but a long labour and birth

im now 18 weeks with my third (sex unknown) had really bad morning sickness cant eat anything sweet or milky and still running to the toilet every 5 mins ha ha and good luck with yours hope it goes well hun xx

with my son i didnt not get very big in the stomach at all you looked at me and would just think yeah she has just put on a bit of weight, but with my baby girl i am 21 weeks with on christmas day i am all belly and nothing but belly. no morning sickness at all with my baby girl but morning sickness with my son.

i have a 5 yr old daughter and i'm pregnant with a little boy, my symptoms are the same, had bad morning sickness with both, and bad heartburn!

everyone though i was having another little girl so was shocked to find out it's a boy!

One thing i will say is that times gone faster this pregnancy.

hi i am in the same boat i had a boy 2 years ago and i all i had was bad sickness but with this one i have no sickness but i am tired, got bad mood swings, gone off certain foods and craving i never had any of that with my boy. but like everyone say every pregnancy is different. Congratulationsxxx

I had terrible sickness, nausea and tiredness. Also suffering with terrible heartburn etc. I am having a girl! x

Well I have a daughter of 15 months and through out pregnancy I have problems tidiness nausea vomiting till 40 weeks diarrhea and heart burn .

might be girls cause more sickenss to moms then boys

im carrying a girl, i was nauseated, tired, moody, nauseated. for 3-4 months

I had my son first and the pregnancy was hell
I was sick everyday about 5 times a day until I had him I was still being sick when I was pushing him out.
I was on tablets for heartburn and I lost 2 and a half stone in weight, we both nearly died in childbirth he had the cord round his neck and body and I lost 5 pints of blood and had to have a transfusion and was in hospital for weeks BUT he was 8lb 5.5 ounces and after the traumatic birth he was fine and has continued to be the best thing in my life I did.
After all this it didn't put me off having another as 3mths later I was pregnant again,
My second pregnancy was a breeze but I was massive and although I worried about the birth she was out in 2 pushes without any pain relief what so ever and she was 9lb and i had her within 10mins after arriving at the hospital.
I didn't have any contractions in my stomach they were all in my back and weren't registering on the monitor so it wasn't until I could feel her head coming out that the hospital believed I was in Labour but she was so worth it and being a MUMMY is the best job in the world!
