Wang’s Way is fast becoming a proven method to reduce pain associated with arthritis. The Florida doctor has a very high success rate using a technique he developed for many kinds of pain.

What is different about ARC Acupuncture and Physical Therapy is their use of a combination treatment called Wang’s Way which uses acupuncture, massage therapy and physical therapy to manage a variety of pain. Wang’s Way can also improve many degenerative diseases. The doctors design an individualized program for each patient’s specific needs. "each patient is different regarding their pain and where it stems from. I get to the root of the problem and fix that first, then it is possible for patients to be pain free," says Wang.

Doctors agree that degenerative arthritis defines the degeneration of a joint and often the depletion of cartilage. For instance, when an x-ray reveals worn out cartilage and bone on bone knee pain, the suggestion is to either have joint replacement surgery or live with the pain. ARC Acupuncture & Physical Therapy specialists view is quite differently.

Interestingly, x-rays often confirm that a patient has local degeneration, yet the patient has no complaint. The x-ray clearly shows joint degeneration does exist, yet there are no symptoms what so ever. Wang say this tells them that the discovery of joint deformity does not necessarily equal pain. Joint degeneration doesn’t bring the patient to get treated, it’s the pain that prompts them.

If fixed through Wang’s Way, the pain can greatly diminish and the quality of life improves for the patient. So what is the cause of pain? When two bones join together there is a joint capsule; inside is a lining with many free nerve fibers called the synovial membrane. The majority of feeling from moving one’s joints is derived from the nerve fibers in the synovial membrane. Therefore, it is safe to say, the pain from the joint is related to some kind of irritation to the synovial membrane. it could be from swelling, trauma, or perhaps debris produced from bone rubbing on bone.

Traditional physical therapy is to apply heat to the affected area. yet, the body has a great ability to conduct heat, so, when heat is applied on the surface, it actually affects only a very small area. The body’s reflex of vessel dilation takes heat away to avoid getting burned. Superficial heat may make one feel better, but it does not heal the inside of the joint.

Dr. Charng-Shen Wang Founder of ARC Acupuncture and Physical Therapy developed Wang’s Way and has now been treating patients with his technique for 20 years. he now has patients from around the country visit for a month to get treated. Wang has worked out a resident program which includes a private apartment style housing complete with a pool, three meals a day and even the use of a golf cart to get around. it is located right behind his Mount Dora office.
