The warning names Globus Media as one distributor of unapproved at-home diagnostic tests; HIV and Syphilis tests are among those distributed. Be particularly cautious when ordering and watch out for scams.
Protect YourselfSafe sex will help you avoid any need for an at-home STD test. Protecting yourself from sexually transmitted disease is easier than it may sound. The CDC advises that you do the following four things to reduce your risk of contracting a sexually transmitted disease:
- Abstain from sex and reduce the number of sex partners you are exposed to.
- Use condoms consistently and make sure to use them correctly.
- Screen yourself for sexually transmitted disease.
