Teen Eating Disorders

by Symptom Advice on August 22, 2010

It’s no secret that teen eating disorders are on the rise. Anorexia in teens and bulimia symptoms are showing up at younger ages all the time.

Can’t wait to share a story? Go to the form right now!

If you’re a teenager and suffering from anorexia or bulimia – I have good news for you!! – Today is the day that you can begin to get help for your eating disorders!

Okay, I know. You’re thinking that’s hardly good news, right?

Well, even if you’ve been keeping your eating disorder a secret, the first step to recovery and freedom might just be a post in this forum :)

Teens and eating disorders don’t mix. If you’ve never been able to share your story with an adult, like a parent or teacher, then perhaps you’ll feel more at ease sharing it here.

You don’t have to give your real name – or any name if you don’t want to.

The most important thing is for you to share with somebody. Keeping secrets – especially if they’re bulimia symptoms or symptoms of anorexia can be downright dangerous.

So let’s take the first step, shall we? Grab your favorite beverage (mine is usually coffee), and let’s go! … before ya change your mind… you know how that is.

And to the rest of you – if you’re comfortable with sharing your experiences, we need to hear those too – especially if you’re further along in your recovery.

- And don’t forget to visit the section of this site about teen anorexia

are you feeling misunderstood? are you tired of the pressure to “just eat” (anorexia)?are you embarrassed or angered by comments about your multiple trips to the bathroom?have you been to treatment? were you in a specialized treatment facility, or in a regular hospital? when you share your story on this site, I will turn it into a web page where others can provide feedback. You can even “ask one, answer one” if you wish! It’s YOUR little corner of the world wide web and you can create a page about your personal story right here!NOTE: Contributions may be gently edited for purposes of clarity and/or tone. Anorexia-Reflections reserves the right to deny any submission that it views as inappropriate for whatever reason. this decision is final. please be respectful and supportive. Thanks! Now get to writing your story ;)
