TMJ and chronic fatigue symptoms?

by Symptom Advice on April 20, 2011

I have TMJ which has progressed over the last few months and over this time period, I have also started being incredibly tired. before this, I was often relatively tired, I guess, but nothing this bad. I would never be able to get to sleep quickly and would lie in bed trying to get to sleep for ages, but now I can fall to sleep much, much quicker than before because I am just that tired! During the day, I am almost falling asleep in class – and that is no exaggeration. I also just constantly feel exhausted. I don't go to bed very late, I don't do intense physical activity all day and I don't have low iron levels. I do however have TMJ and I have read on some sites that TMJ sufferers can get chronic fatigue-like symptoms? I was wondering if this is true and if this new tiredness can be at least partly attributed to my TMJ.

do you have pain or clicking TMJ ? i didnt understand what exactly u have in TMJ. anyway if u have some habit like chewing gum or bite a pen when u stress or u have a malocclusion all of these will make TMJ problem…u should refer to ur dentist to take cephalometric x-ray. it will help. it will cause a fatigue if it wont treated
