Uterine Cancer Symptoms

by Symptom Advice on December 25, 2010

Uterine or Endometrial cancer is named so due to the presence of the cancerous cells on the uterus lining itself.

Vaginal bleeding is often one of the indications of uterine cancer. But, because it happens while menopause too, many women never feel the need to investigate.

Let us see the symptoms have been observed in patients who have been diagnosed with uterine cancer. But, it is not correct to assume that any of these symptoms is good enough to treat as a confirmation for uterine cancer. These symptoms are also present in many other diseases and should be thoroughly investigated by a competent doctor.

The symptoms are:

* The pelvic region is frequently in pain.* Urination causes great discomfort and sometimes even pain.* as we mentioned above also, there might be vaginal bleeding.* in some cases, discharge was also observed from the ******.* Sexual intercourse is painful.

The recent observed cases have shown that vaginal bleeding is one of the most common occurring symptoms. However, in most cases, there was just the discharge from ****** earlier which turned in vaginal bleeding later.

Studies have also shown that certain factors may make you more susceptible to uterine cancer:

* 50+ years – Age greater than 50 makes you more susceptible.* if there is major increase in the hormones in women, it makes them more susceptible. Certain events like giving birth to less children, undergoing estrogen replacing therapy, having ovarian tumors present etc. gives a boost to the hormone strength of a woman.* Endometrial Hyperplasia – this indicates excessive proliferation in the inner lining of the uterus.

As is the case, there is no standard treatment or steps to be followed which are common for every case. it depends on many factors such as the stage of the cancer, age of the patient etc.

Depending on the factors above, treating a patient may be simply surgery, especially if the person’s disease is in the beginning stages, or may be a combination of chemotherapy and radiation in order to keep the growth of the cancerous cells limited to the initial location. Cancer tends to spread very easily to other parts of the body and has to be stopped from doing so.

If caught in time, it can be cured completely with the right treatment. Many patients also take part in trials which have experimental *****. Many a times, it has proven life-saving for the patient.

There are some other alternative treatments for cancer that many women follow:

* Special diets.* some form of mediation.* Taking a daily course of vitamins.* Spiritual healing and visualization.* Acupuncture.

These treatments have helped women cope with uterine cancer to a large extent. However, to be on the safe side, it is always advised not to mix the medications.
