What are the symptoms of a bone infection? and if it is a bone infection does it require hospitalization?

i have a deep puncture wound on my lower left leg on the inside of my leg (medial) it's been about a month and a half and it still hasn't healed. i preveiously had a skin infection in that same spot but that has been healed for a few weeks now.
