What causes a sore throat a no other symptoms?

by Symptom Advice on April 15, 2011

I am 48 years old and have had a sore throat for a month with very little other symptoms. My glands are a little swollen and my throat is barely red. I have not had any fatigue, weight loss, or anything else major. the pain from the sore throat is better in the day, then gets worse at night. what could be the cause of this chronic sore throat?
