What do these symptoms describe? Tight throat, cheek bones hurt, Jaw hinge is soar?

by Symptom Advice on February 3, 2011

I have had anxiety before but never with these symptoms and I haven't had my wisdom teeth out but the dentist said I have four and I can get them taken out whenever it didn't seem like a big deal and I've never had that bad of allergies.

I've been waking up with my jaw hinge and upper jaw (maxilla) being sore sometimes lasting all day and sometimes it goes away and comes back. lately my throat has been tight as well. Whats up?

Have you slept differently at all? sometimes if I sleep wrong, it can hurt like that.
Almost sounds like tetanus, but not quite.
It can have a lot to do with nerves. Nerves cause a lot of weird pains.
Anxiety also can cause the tightness of the throat. I've had anxiety attacks (from caffeine, before I knew I was allergic xP) and at one point my mouth was numb and my jaw was super sore, and my throat felt really tight.

Since you mention anxiety it sounds like you're thinking perhaps it's just muscle tightness in your sleep. Perhaps accompanied by some teeth grinding. You may very well be right. if you have specific places that have sharp pain, however, it might be something else.

Regardless, chronic pain of any kind should be brought to your doctor for diagnosis and treatment.

You are grinding and/or clenching your teeth while you sleep.

Check with your dentist about an NTI.

it could be your glands or if not your wisdom teeth but sometimes this could be a reaction to rabies have you been scratched or bitten by any kind of animal

maybe you grinding your teeth in your sleep? -could be especially if you stressed. Tight throat -sounds like you might be getting a cold/flu.

Sounds like you probably grind your teeth in your sleep.
