At the CoxHealth Center in Buffalo doctors are hearing many complaints of the common cold.  Symptoms include nasal congestion, either a runny or stuffy nose.  a lingering cough is common and many people are complaining of a sore throat with their colds.  the common cold tends to linger on longer than we’d like it to, symptoms could last up to 2 weeks.  It’s important to practice common courtesies like covering your mouth when you cough or sneeze, washing your hands often with warm, soapy water, and staying home if you are sick.  with a cold the best thing you can do is keep symptoms to a minimum.   there are many over the counter medications that may help you ease some of your cold symptoms.  at the same doctors office in Buffalo, many parents are calling in concerned about their kids and a low-grade fever.  unless your child is acting different or funny, a slight fever isn’t much to be worried about.  If you are concerned, call your doctor.  also, great news from Dallas county.  at this particular clinic they have only treated 1 unconfirmed case of the flu.
