When did you start feeling pregnant and noticing symptoms?

by Symptom Advice on January 29, 2011

im 4 weeks 3 days roughly, just got my bfp today. i have no symptoms except slightly crampy and sorry for tmi here but my knickers are damp?? why is this? i dont feel pregnant either :( what are your experiences x

I was 6 weeks into my pregnancy before I found out I was pregnant, and my symptoms started then. I had cramps, headaches, feeling really hot and clammy, my breasts were tender and vomiting all the time.
As for the "damp nickers" it's excessive vaginal discharge. It's quite common to have more vaginal discharge during pregnancy.

What you're noticing is probably normal leukorrhea – the odourless or mild-smelling milky discharge that you may have noticed in your underwear before you were pregnant. There's just a lot more of it now, partly because of increased estrogen production and greater blood flow to the vaginal area. This discharge is made up of secretions from the cervix and vagina, old cells from the walls of the vagina, and normal bacterial flora from the vagina.

You'll probably notice more vaginal discharge as you approach labour, although it's likely to look somewhat different from the flow you've become accustomed to.

In very early pregnancy, cervical secretions filled your cervical canal and created a protective barrier – the so-called mucus plug. as your cervix begins to efface (thin out) and dilate (open up), it may expel this mucus, and you'll notice discharge that looks like egg white or mucus from a runny nose on a cold day. You may even expel the plug in one gelatinous glob. This discharge might be tinged with a bit of blood.

I were about 5 weeks when i had my first symptoms :(
I am 9 weeks and 2 days today and still have symptoms.
I started with the cramping (like period pains) then i had headaches, feeling sick all the time and really tired.
2 days ago i started throwing up, still have the headaches, occasional cramps and have gone right off food!
As for you damp knickers, mine were damp aswell, up until last week anyways, still haven't a clue as to why though.
Good luck with your pregnancy.

Ok well the dampness is caused by your hormones, this happens to everyone. Just use a pad and it will be fine.

As for the symptoms, they vary from person to person and different pregnancy's. I had symptoms even before the BFP but then most dont get anything till more like 6 weeks. Very one is different. But no matter if you feel pregnant or not your body is going through huge changes right now. so dont be surprised if its tiredness you notice fist.

Congratulations
