Rabies symptoms in humans?

by Symptom Advice on September 1, 2011

Okay so i know that when a human is infected by rabies, they usually die from cardiac problems after reaching the second phase of symptoms. but what would happen if they didn't die. Would they show th same symptoms as animals do (foaming at the mouth, charging at other people/animals.)

Barely anyone survives from rabies. Rabies is also extremely rare, only 55,000 people in our country ( U.S.A. ) Die a year from the rabies virus which is sad but not very much. when a person dies from rabies its a freak accident since it is so uncommon and since with today's technology we vacinate our pets and if you did get bitten by a rabid animal you can get saved if you get to the hospital in time. Now for the symptoms many symptoms would come across.

Symptoms
————————

Fever.
Cough or sore throat.
Pain, burning, itching, tingling, or numbness at the site of the bite or original exposure.
Abdominal pain.
Anxiety or restlessness that gradually gets worse and may become extreme agitation.
Later symptoms are more distinctive and may include:

Periods of normal behavior that alternate with bizarre or unusual behavior, such as:
Anxiety or feeling agitated.
Hallucinations.
Delirium.
Fear of water (hydrophobia) or fear of air (aerophobia).
Muscle spasms in the face, neck, and/or diaphragm, followed by seizures.
Paralysis, which is often the only symptom of the less common paralytic form of rabies often associated with rabies from vampire bats.
Wide fluctuations in temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
Coma, and heart and respiratory failure.

Probably. That's why I am freaked out by zombie movies.
