Well, first off, you can have herpes and it can be dormant (show no symptoms) in your body for years upon years. if you do get an outbreak, it will be somewhere in your pubic region, on the "outside" or the "inside". And the sore, if you keep it clean, will probably heal up in about a week or so. but sometimes they leave a scar that may or may not fade over a period of years. just depends on your skin type.
