What are symptoms of a hormone imbalance?

by Symptom Advice on March 19, 2011

I think I have a hormone imbalance, I am a girl and 16. I don't know if it's bad, what should I do, what are symptoms? Please help! is it serious??

Irregular periods, heavy bleeding, feeling hot, being grumpy and grouchy around that time of the month. If any of these apply to you, there's a simple solution. Just make an appt with your ob/gyn doc and they can do some bloodwork and possibly give you something to help. good luck :)

It would have been better if you had written your symptoms. Hormonal imbalance may cause a lot of symptoms including oligo- or amenorrhea, acne, hirsutism, deep voice, masculine attitude, loss of hair etc.

There are different types of hormonal imbalances… some are female hormones and some are male hormones. If you're grumpy, moody, have irregular periods or feel dizzy and weak, that's probably a female hormone imbalance. If you have other symptoms like excess hair growth or really bad acne, it could be a sign of male hormone imbalance. Try looking on Google.com for "hormone imbalance" and it should direct you to sites with symptoms and solutions, then you can go to a doctor and discuss treatment if it's really bad.

Also, try cutting back on sugar and complex carbs (cake, cookies, doughy breads… etc) and drink plenty of water as this can affect your hormone levels. so I've heard…
